Resonance Records Tops The Vinyl World With myMix
January 2023 – The music industry is a forever rotating carousel of styles designed by innovative professionals. From new age hip hop to old school jazz, every artist should be able to showcase their skills and have a platform to put forth their best work.
George Klabin, multi-talented producer and audio engineer, turned his love for the arts into a career dedicated to the next generation of brilliant visionaries. In 2005, Klabin established the Rising Jazz Stars Foundation to support and discover talented musicians. As the foundation began to flourish, Klabin looked for ways to transform his vision even further. This led to the creation of Resonance Records, a label designed to help musicians establish their roots in jazz all around the world and preserve its revered history.
“We are all about jazz. We consider ourselves to be a museum of jazz because all the records that we put out, they’re like paintings, they’re really important,” stated Klabin. “We get finished historical tapes that are usually mono or stereo recorded in the fifties or sixties and we put them out with famous jazz musicians. Some of these recordings are not, or have never been available, some people didn’t even know they existed.”
Over the years, Resonance Records has not only worked with upcoming hopefuls but with world renown artists and their estates to bring incredible pieces of music to the table. From Nat King Cole to Yvonne Linz, Resonance Records has restored the sensation of jazz history through a range of publications. They began with releasing each project on CD and digital while later implementing vinyl for collector and historic purposes. Due to an industry decline of CD sales and an overrun catalog of digital releases, the incorporation of vinyl became pertinent to the labels success.
With that transition to vinyl set in stone, Klabin knew he needed to apply a stronger internal infrastructure and discovered myMix to be his best solution. Klabin integrated myMix to provide not only cohesion and consistency to each project but to give more control back to the musicians.
“The best feature to me, among numerous features, is the fact that you can program in little letters for what’s on the channel. Then that pops right up on all of them so the musicians can adjust,” added Klabin. “You don’t have to go in there like the old way, where you have to write stickers and put one for each, like this is for piano and so on. That’s a really good feature that makes the system work really well. It’s extremely reliable.”

For the past ten years, Resonance Records has used myMix on almost every project with no failure in any unit. This has allowed Klabin and Resonance Records to put their sole focus on the art and true restoration of jazz history. With many pushing the envelope, myMix lays the groundwork for artists and industry professionals to delve deep into their visions. Its sophistication and reliability continues to elevate Resonance Records in the vinyl industry and shape rising musicians around the world.
Whether it be a single performer or an entire orchestra, Klabin knew he could trust myMix to help build projects worth preserving in history.
