The most important question you can ask of almost any effect or processor is ‘How does it sound?’, and the best description I can think of is to say that S-Gear sounds expensive — in a good way.

The Fireface flagship series provides the latest Low Latency AD/DA converters – operating up to 192 kHz. The high performance design keeps the original sound in its entirety, nothing added, nothing removed. No wonder, countless Fireface users are telling us: “It simply sounds great!”
The recording functionality is provided by the internal DSP, and therefore works without a connected Windows or Mac computer. It is also available in Class Compliant mode.
The recorded audio files are in Broadcast Wave Format and can be directly imported into most professional audio software (e. g. Pro Tools, Samplitude, Cubase).
Direct USB Recording converts the Fireface UFX Series both into a stand-alone field recorder and a powerful multichannel live player for previous recordings, e. g. for virtual sound checks.
