M-1620 PRO D / M-1620 PRO
Redundant MADI built-in.
RME presents a new high-end multi-channel analog converter. The RME M-1620 Pro combines in just 1 HU 16 analog inputs with 20 balanced analog line level outputs, two independent stereo headphones, redundant Dante or AVB ports, two independent MADI ports, four ADAT I/Os, network remote control with web interface and dual internal power supplies.
Shown for the first time at InfoComm 2024, the German manufacturer offers the high density I/O converter in two versions:
- M-1620 PRO D: converter with up to 64 Dante I/O at 48 kHz
- M-1620 PRO: converter with 128 AVB/MILAN I/O at 48 kHz
Both otherwise identical versions provide 16 servo-balanced line inputs and 16 line outputs with fully balanced signal path (up to +24 dBU – switchable per channel). Powered by SteadyClock FS, RME’s Pro Audio clock with FemtoSecond accuracy, the device comes with a new converter design, switchable filters and industry-leading specifications (real world SNR of more then 120 dBA).
Additionally, the M-1620 PRO features two stereo headphone outputs directly at the front of the unit, which can be used to listen to any input or output or even as additional line outputs for desk monitors.
Dante or AVB – fully MILAN certified – are available on dual, redundant Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports at the back of the device, which also provides redundant power supplies.
All built-in audio formats can be converted from and to all other audio formats via the integrated routing matrix.
The compact 1 HU 19” Device features a front panel with analog level meters for all analog I/O and a TFT display to control most features directly at the unit.
From converters to interfaces, RME has raised the stakes by giving professionals high reliable, cutting edge tools for Dante and AVB/MILAN they’ve been waiting for. The new M-1620 PRO adds now a multi-format converter with unmatched reliability, flexibility and industry-leading specifications to RME’s Advanced Dante and AVB Eco System.

SteadyClock FS
Ultra precise professional audio clock
with FemtoSecond Accuracy & complete Jitter immunity.
WordClock The jitter of a word clock is typically 15 times higher, as when using a quartz based clock. The SteadyClock technology of the M-1620 PRO fixes this problem completely. Combining the advantages of modern and fastest digital technology with analog filter techniques, re-gaining a low jitter clock signal of 22 MHz from a slow word clock of 44.1 kHz is no problem anymore. Additionally, jitter on the input signal is highly rejected, so that even in real world usage the re-gained clock signal is of highest quality.
Full Remote Control
Both M-1620 PRO models feature a JSON-based API for full integration and remote control from either network port or USB.
A web-based remote application offers convenient access to settings and the 304×308 channel routing matrix (240×244 for M-1620 Pro D).

HDSPe AoX-D / HDSPe AoX-M
SHIPPING Q4/2024
Shown for the first time at InfoComm 2024, the German manufacturer offers the PCI Express card in two versions:
- HDSPe AoX-D with up to 512 Dante I/O at 48 kHz
- HDSPe AoX-M with up to 128 AVB/MILAN I/O at 96 kHz
Both otherwise identical versions combine dual network ports for Dante or AVB/MILAN with a TRS headphone output, an AES/EBU I/O, MIDI I/O and provide internal expansion headers for up to four MADI I/O plus Wordclock.
The PCI Express 1.1 x4 card can be used in a Thunderbolt™ expansion chassis or built into DAWs or audio processors and comes fully equipped with RME’s TotalMix FX DSP mixer and ultra low latency drivers for Windows and Mac.
RME offers two optional MADI extension boards for the main PCIe card:
- MADI BNC: two coaxial MADI I/O on four BNC ports.
- MADI SFP: two optical MADI I/O on two SFP modules.
Both MADI extensions require one PCIe slot, come with a switchable Wordclock In or Out and can be used in any combination with the main card.
The maximum channel count of the AoX with MADI remains at 512 Inputs and 512 outputs (reducing the maximum usable Dante channel count of the AoX-D).
Up to 256 channels show up in RME’s internal DSP mixer (TotalMix FX). This way, the card works also as a zero latency converter/mixer/router between Dante/AVB from and to the widely used MADI format.
Additional 256 channels can be selected by the user to be passed straight through to the DAW, meaning a total of 512 channels are usable for recording
With the release of the new multi-channel PCIe card, RME expands its Advanced Audio-over-IP Eco System with another high-end audio interface. The HDSPe AoX comes with RME’s unmatched, high-reliable driver technology and a built-in DSP mixer with zero-latency effects.

Add two optional MADI boards to your main networking AoX PCIe card.
The Dante network audio channels of the AoX-D can partially be replaced (or extended in case of the AoX-M Milan® version) with MADI signals by adding up to two optional dual optical or dual coaxial extension cards. It is therefore possible to integrate four MADI input signals, four MADI output signals plus up to 256 network audio channels per direction within a single audio interface for the first time – on macOS and Windows.
